Mumbai: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan sustained multiple injuries in a shocking burglary attempt at his Bandra residence early Thursday morning. The 54-year-old actor, who was attacked by an intruder, suffered six stab wounds during the altercation.
What Happened?
Police reports reveal that the intruder gained access to Khan's 11th-floor apartment using the fire escape staircase. Initially, the attacker confronted Khan's housemaid before the actor intervened, resulting in a violent struggle.
Khan’s son, Ibrahim Ali Khan, and a caretaker rushed him to Lilavati Hospital after the incident. CCTV footage from the apartment complex captured the first images of the intruder, aiding the Mumbai police in identifying a suspect.

Mumbai Police Investigation
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Dixit Gedam addressed the media, confirming the burglary attempt.
> "The accused used the fire escape staircase to enter Saif Ali Khan's residence. It appears to be a straightforward robbery attempt. Ten detection teams are actively working to apprehend the suspect," Gedam stated.
Authorities have deployed 20 police teams to track down the intruder and have dismissed rumors linking the incident to organized crime, including the Bishnoi gang.

Actor's Health Update
Doctors at Lilavati Hospital confirmed that Saif Ali Khan is in stable condition following emergency surgery. According to Dr. Nitin Dange, the actor suffered a significant injury to his thoracic spinal cord, caused by a knife lodged in his spine.
> "We performed surgery to remove a 2.5-inch piece of the knife from his spine. He also sustained deep wounds on his left hand and neck, which required plastic surgery," Dr. Dange stated.
Chief Operating Officer Dr. Niraj Uttamani added:
> "The actor has been moved to the ICU for one-day observation. He is stable and on the path to a full recovery. His recovery is expected to be 100%."
Family's Official Statement
Saif Ali Khan's team released a statement confirming the actor’s condition:
